College of Post-Graduate Studies is one of the constituent colleges of Central Agricultural University, Imphal which was established in the year 2007 at Umiam, Ri Bhoi District Meghalaya and approximately 20 Kms. from the State capital Shillong. It is a premier agricultural post-graduate educational institution in the North Eastern Region under the Agricultural University Education System. The mission of the college is to provide quality education, applied research and extension programmes for the benefit of the people of the North Eastern States. Over the years, the University has developed an impressive infrastructures and laboratory facilities in the College for imparting teaching programmes to P.G., and Ph.D. students. From the Academic Session 2015-16, it is also imparting B.Sc. Agriculture Degree programme till such time the newly established College of Agriculture attains functional.
The College of Post-Graduate Studies (CPGS) a constituent College of the Central Agricultural University (CAU) was established in the year 2007 with the sole objective of training post graduate students of agriculture from the North Eastern Hill states of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura. It is expected that these students would eventually become the torch bearers for enhancing the agricultural growth and livelihood support for the farming and rural community as a whole in the region.
