The College Extension Advisory Committee (CEAC) of the College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences (CPGS-AS), Umiam, Meghalaya, is the institutional body responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing the extension education and outreach activities of the College. The Committee serves as a dynamic platform for strengthening collaboration among the College, farming communities, research institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), State Government Departments, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), agri-entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to promote need-based, demand-driven, and farmer-centric extension programmes.

The committee functions with the objective of disseminating appropriate agricultural technologies, enhancing the knowledge and skills of farmers and rural communities, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and strengthening the linkage between research, education, and field application. The committee facilitates various extension activities, including farmers' training programmes, demonstrations, farmer-scientist interactions, vocational and skill development programmes, awareness campaigns, and technology dissemination programmes, in collaboration with national and state organizations across Meghalaya and the North Eastern Region.

Every year, CEAC convenes the Extension Advisory and Interface Meeting to review the extension activities undertaken during the preceding year, present the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the recommendations of the previous meeting, and formulate the Annual Action Plan for the ensuing year. The meeting brings together experts from ICAR institutes, Central Agricultural University (CAU), State Government Departments, research and development organizations, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), NABARD, NECTAR, MBMA, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), progressive farmers, and other stakeholders to provide valuable suggestions for strengthening the College's extension programmes and enhancing research–extension–farmer linkages.

The College Extension Advisory Committee (CEAC) functions under the leadership and guidance of the Dean, College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences (CPGS-AS), Umiam, Meghalaya, who serves as the Chairperson of the Committee and provides overall strategic direction for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the College's extension programmes and outreach initiatives.
