The College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences marked a significant milestone with the opening of its Gymnasium.

Promoting health and wellness among students and staff, a newly established modular gymnasium was inaugurated at the College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences (CPGSAS), Umiam, Meghalaya on May 22nd,2025. The facility was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Hon’ble Chairman, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), New Delhi, in the presence of Dr. Anupam Mishra, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Dr. P. S. Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, RPCAU, Samastipur, Bihar, Dr. B. R. Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor, CCSHAU, Hisar and Prof. Dwipendra Thakuria, Dean, CPGSAS, Umiam. This inaugural event was graced by the presence of Dr. P.K. Chakrabarty, Former Member, ASRB, New Delhi, Dr. M. C. Sharma, Former Vice-Chancellor & Director, ICAR-IVRI, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. J. P. Sharma, Former Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu & President, Mobilization, New Delhi, Sh. Atul Jain, General Secretary, Deendayal Shodh Sansthan, New Delhi and Dr M.M. Adhikary, Former VC, BCKV, West Bengal. The faculty, staff and students of CPGSAS, umiam also witnessed the inauguration of the modular gymnasium.

The event marked yet another step by CPGSAS in creating a holistic academic environment that supports both intellectual and physical development. The newly launched gymnasium is expected to benefit the campus community by promoting health, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being. The gymnasium aims to foster physical well-being, encourage a balanced lifestyle, and provide a recreational outlet for students, faculty, and staff members of the college.
